Sally Asplin, age 91, of Warwick, Rhode Island, died August 17, 2024. She was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Ernie Asplin.
Sally was born in Glasgow Scotland England and immigrated to the USA with her husband and two children in 1957. In addition to being a loving wife and mother, she worked as the cafeteria cashier at Aldrich Jr High School from 1965 to 1971, and as a saleswoman at Eldred Wheeler Furniture in Hyannis MA in the 1990's. Her favorite pastimes included the going to live theatre, dancing, crocheting, baking and befriending any dog she ever met.
She is survived her daughter Teresa Cowell and her husband Thomas of Vermont, her son John Asplin and his wife Christine of Chicago, her sister Marion Dickson and her husband Jim, her brother Kenneth Simpson and his wife Isabell, all of Scotland. Sally loved laughing and playing with her four grandchildren (Keith Lada, Craig Lada, Paul Asplin, Daniel Asplin) and four great-grandchildren (Avery, Charlotte, Lucy, Alice).
A celebration of life for family and friends will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Rhode Island Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.
