Sally A. Kohl, 90, of Dahinda, Illinois, formerly of Galesburg, Illinois, died at 1:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 8, 2025 at home.
Sally was born May 25, 1934 in Taylorville, Illinois, the daughter of Orval L. and Beulah I. (Roberts) Beardon. Sally married Richard L. Kohl on April 17, 1954 in Aurora, Illinois. Richard preceded Sally in death on October 8, 2018. Sally is survived by one son, Jeff (Lori) Kohl of Dahinda, Illinois; six grandchildren, April (Marc) Zehr of Phoenix, Arizona, Ryan (Blayne) Kohl of Galesburg, Megan Kohl-Hallam of Wataga, Illinois, Morgan (Blake) Cunningham of East Moline, Illinois, Matthew Kohl of Galesburg, and Adam Kohl of Dahinda; and six great grandchildren, Ava and Connor Zehr, Landon and Liam Kohl, Lucy Hallam, and Owen Cunningham. Sally is also survived by two special nephews, Matt Tyner of Baltimore, Maryland and Mike (Jill) Tyner of St. Louis, Missouri. Along with her husband and parents, Sally was preceded in death by a daughter, Elizabeth Kilgore Tabb; and a sister, Gwalia Kay Tyner.
Sally enjoyed working with her hands, she loved to quilt, crochet, and embroidery, along with needle crafting. She was a longtime member of the Newcomer's Welcome Club in Galesburg. In recent years, Sally attended The Oaks Community Church in Dahinda. Since moving to Oak Run, Sally enjoyed going to the Watering Hole and visiting with the many friends she made.
Memorial visitation will be Sunday, March 16, 2025 at Watson Thomas Funeral Home and Crematory, Galesburg from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Private family graveside services will be at Oneida Cemetery, Oneida, Illinois. Memorial contributions may be made to The Oaks Community Church or to OSF Hospice.
