Sally Stroup, 89, of Akron, passed away on October 3, 2024. She was born in Akron on July 20, 1935 to the late Morris and Pauline {Reidelbach} Hahn.
In addition to her parents, Sally was preceded in death by husband George Stroup, daughter Joan (Barry) Rankin, daughter-in-law Jennifer Viering.
Sally is survived by her loving sons, Thomas Viering and Daniel (April) Stroup; grandchildren Brad and Justin Rankin, Jordan Hiner, Heather Viering and Steffan Viering, Marisa (Stephen) Oravetz, Courtney Stull; great-grandchildren La'Terra Anderson, Simeon, Gideon, Rivka and Selah Oravetz and Kylo Stull.
Sally was a history buff and trivia whiz, who loved to read, especially mystery novels. She went to school at The University of Akron, and began her career as a paralegal before taking a break to raise her family.
Sally's family was her world, and she was an active mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was a compassionate soul who always rooted for the underdog. She could converse with people from all walks of life, and will always be remembered for her unconditional love.
