Beloved Father, Grandfather, and Respected Chiropractor
Clawson, MI
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Dr. Sam Tocco, of Clawson, Michigan, on October 17, 2024. Sam was a dedicated and compassionate chiropractor, a loving and proud father, an affectionate grandfather, and a cherished friend to many. His loss leaves a deep void in the hearts of those who knew him.
Born on November 18, 1953 in Warren, MI, Sam developed a deep passion for vitalistic health and service to others. He pursued his education in healthcare, earning his Doctor of Chiropractic degree and went on to serve the community of Clawson and surrounding cities for over forty-two years as a trusted and respected chiropractor. His commitment to his patients was unwavering. He had the rare gift of treating not only the body, but also empowering his patients toward greater health, as his wisdom touched everyone who walked through his doors. He genuinely remarked repeatedly throughout his life that his career never felt like a burden or a "job", because he thoroughly loved each day of practice and caring for his beloved patients. Sam's care provided comfort to countless families, and he was more than a doctor-he was a healer and a teacher.
Beyond his professional life, Sam was deeply devoted to his family. He was a proud father of seven children, guiding them with a loving heart and giving them the confidence to pursue their dreams. As a grandfather, Sam's eyes would light up when he spoke of his grandchildren, who adored him for his warmth, his affection, and his playful spirit.
Sam was a man of strength and conviction to his beliefs. He was an avid reader and committed to the pursuit of wisdom and knowledge, as a lifelong learner. His community involvement reflected his dedication, as he was always striving to make the world a better place.
In his free time, Sam lived an active lifestyle and loved spending time outdoors. He was grateful for every day of sunshine or the opportunity to be near the water, as he immensely enjoyed the simple pleasures of life and never let a beautiful day go to waste.
Dr. Sam Tocco will be remembered not only for his outstanding professional contributions, but also for the love, integrity, and leadership that he conveyed in every aspect of his life. He was truly an independent thinker, never persuaded to blindly follow the crowd. He leaves behind a legacy of excellence and strength that will continue to inspire all who were fortunate enough to know him.
He is survived by his former wife, Mary Tocco, and their children Renee, Austin, Lia, Curtis and Preston; by former fiancé, Kelly Warnos, and their children Anthony and Gabriel; his adored grandchildren Gavyn, Alyvia, Ashtyn, Reynolds, Lincoln, Aubreylyn, Eva, Vivian, Aria, Ayla, Aubriella, Adelynn, and Levi; and a host of extended family, friends, colleagues, and patients who will miss him dearly. Though we mourn his loss, we take comfort in knowing that his spirit and legacy lives on in the hearts of those he touched.
A celebration of Sam's life will be held on Saturday, November 2, 2024 at Gramer Funeral Home, with visitation from 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm, and a service to commence at 6:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to honor Dr. Sam Tocco: Memorial Tree Fund account (https://www.gofundme.com/f/honor-dr-sam-tocco-memorial-tree-fund), to be used for a memorial tree and plaque that will be planted in a local park in his honor.

My son had 2 head injuries from high school football, all we received we're hospital stays and morphine. I found Dr Tocco and had a 3D x-ray done for my son which I took to MSU in 2016, they did not have this technology and they still offered no help. Once we could see the movement of the bones with Dr Tocco, which was not visible on any hospital MRI etc. we worked with Dr Tocco and others to correct the problem. My son is healed. I will always remember and feel gratitude to Dr. Tocco. Rest in Peace Kim Burleigh Clinton Twp., MI
