Sandra Lee (Guyette) Badger was welcomed into the loving arms of her Savior, Jesus Christ, in the early morning hours of February 23, 2025, following a lengthy illness.
Sandy was born August 26, 1958, to Millard and Alice (Lasell) Guyette of Williamstown, VT. The family moved to the Northfield area, where Sandy attended school in "The Falls" and graduated from Northfield High School with the Bicentennial Class of 1976.
She was a curly headed girl with bright blue eyes and an endearing smile, quick to make friends with everyone. She loved music and sang in choirs at school and church, and with friends and family around the piano.
Being a people person, Sandy took great delight in hosting backyard barbeques– everyone welcome! She spent many summers renting cabins on Echo Lake and inviting everyone to join her, especially her nieces and nephews, entertaining them with board games, laughter, and trips to theme parks.
Sandy married Anthony Badger and together they opened their home to foster children. After only six years of marriage, Tony passed away. Sandy continued fostering as a single "mom" to several children. She loved them all as if they were her own. Her greatest joy was her daughter, Samantha, the two becoming a family through adoption.
Sandy worked hard through the years in various jobs: day care, nanny, store clerk, bank teller, paraeducator, and speech and language assistant. She loved her students at the Williamstown Elementary School, and missed them greatly when health concerns prevented her from working. Her strong will and determination got her through many hardships including the loss of her home during Hurricane Irene and a battle with cancer.
Sandy will be greatly missed by many, especially her daughter, Samantha Badger (Williamstown); her siblings Daniel and Paulette Guyette (Randolph), Diane and Richard Badger (Woodbury), and Susan and Michael Grant (Lyndon Center); several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and many friends, including Don Giroux and Sammy's support person, Gina Phillips.
A special thank you to Woodridge Health and Rehabilitation for their kindness and care for Sandy over the past few months.
Our joy is in knowing Sandy is with Jesus and reunited with the loved ones who've gone before. This is not goodbye, but "'til we meet again."
Visiting hours will take place Friday, March 7 from 5:00 to 7:00 pm at Kingston Funeral Home, 35 Slate Avenue, Northfield. A celebration of Sandy's life will be held Saturday, March 8 at 2:00 pm at Kingston Funeral Home, with refreshments immediately following at the Northfield Senior Center, 168 Wall St.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Central Vermont Habitat for Humanity, P.O. Box 837, Montpelier, VT 05602, or online at https://www.centralvermonthabitat.org/donate.html To send flowers to the family or plant a tree in memory of Sandra, please visit our floral store.
