Sandra Jeanne Baughman

Sandra (Sonnie) Jeanne Baughman passed away at Fahrney-Keedy Senior Living Community on June 22, 2025. The family would like to thank the staff of Fahrney-Keedy for their kindness during Sonnie's stays with them.
Born on February 22, 1940, in Hagerstown, Maryland, she was the daughter of the late Harold Long and Margaret Ruth (Hutson) Long.
Sonnie graduated from South Hagerstown High School in 1958 and from Washington County Hospital School of Nursing in 1961. She spent more than 15 years as a registered nurse, working in the operating room at the Washington County Hospital and later in various doctor's offices.
Sonnie was a member of First Christian Church of Hagerstown for over 50 years and served on the choir, as a deacon, and on the bulletin and alter decorating committees. She loved playing the piano, cooking and baking for her family and friends, reading, and spending time with her children and grandchildren.
Sonnie was preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Margaret Ruth Long.
She is survived by her husband of almost 62 years, Brenton E. Baughman, Sr., her daughter, Christine L. Eberwein (Baughman), son-in-law, Jason C.J. Eberwein, Sr., grandsons, Christian D. Jones and Jason C.J. Eberwein, Jr., and granddaughter, Madison J. Eberwein. Sonnie is also survived by her son, Brenton E. Baughman, Jr. and daughter-in-law, Angie K. Baughman.
In addition, Sonnie is survived by her niece, Cynthia D. Baughman, her husband, Daniel Kleinman, and her great nephews, Tobias B. Kleinman and Benjamin D. Kleinman. She is also survived by her cousin, Carol Hutson.
A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, June 26 at 10:00 AM at the Douglas A. Fiery Funeral Home, 1331 Eastern Blvd. North, Hagerstown, MD.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made in Sonnie's name to First Christian Church 1345 Potomac Avenue, Hagerstown, MD 21742.
