Sandra ("Sandy") Gay Hall, age 78 of Lindley, New York passed away on Easter Sunday, April 20, 2025. She was born on January 26, 1947, in Corning, New York to Stanley and Helen Smith. She married Franklin Hall on March 19, 1966, at the Tuscarora Baptist Church. After over 55 years of marriage, Frank predeceased her in October 2023. Sandy's heart was broken after losing Frank, but she continued for her family.
Sandy's faith, love and service were the heart of who she was. She had a strong relationship with God, and we take peace that she went home to God on Easter Sunday, the day our Lord was risen. Her church-the Presho Church of Jesus Christ (formerly Presho United Methodist Church) was a central part of her life. Before she lost Frank and fell ill, she was often found at the church where she effortlessly shared her talents and love by planning, cooking for and working at church dinners (where she ran a tight ship ).
She shared that same love and devotion with her family and anyone in need. She was the family matriarch-the heart of our family. Not only would she tell you she loved you, but she also showed it. She lovingly planned holiday and family get togethers where everyone was welcome, and she graciously shared her delicious meals. Sandy's generosity and love did not end there. Through the years, she made dinners and desserts to share with others, including family, friends and her home health care patients-anything to lift their spirits or make their lives easier. And she never missed an opportunity to donate to a cause - from veteran's programs to animal rescues. Those causes were particularly close to her heart because of Frank's military service and her rescued pets (Alberti, Winston, Red Cat and Penelope).
She loved deeply and the world was a better place because of her. We will miss her greatly.
Sandy is survived by her three children: Bruce (Kristen ("K2")) Hall of Vestal, NY, Brian (Kristyn ("K3")) Hall of Big Flats, Kristin ("K1") (John) Button of Beaver Dams; grandson: Brandon Hall of Albany; siblings: Doug (Pam) Smith of Lindley and Sue (Fred) Marsh of Lindley; Frank's siblings and their spouses: Marjory Miles of Tuscarora, Edwin (Irene) Hall of Tuscarora (Edwin predeceased), James (Shirley) Hall of Campbell, Millie (Kenny) Peoples of Addison, Martha (Bill) Stratton of Addison, Benjamin (Wendy) Hall of Hornby and Joel (Kimberly) Hall of Corning and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. In addition to her parents, Sandy was predeceased by her sister, Anne Smith.
Family and friends are invited to call at Flint Funeral Home, 10 Wall Street, Addison, NY on Friday, April 25, 2025, from 1:00pm-3:00pm and 5:00pm-7:00pm. A memorial service will be held at the funeral home on Saturday at 11:00am with Rev. Judi Savoy officiating.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Sandy's name may be sent to: Presho Church of Jesus Christ, 1727 Indian
Hills Rd, Painted Post, NY 14870.
