Sandra Marie Jenkins, age 63, departed this life peacefully on Monday, November 11, 2024, at her residence. She was a native of New Orleans, LA and a resident of Marrero, LA. Following Hurricane Katrina, Sandra resided for several years in Duluth, GA. Sandra grew up in the Black Pearl neighborhood of New Orleans and would often travel from Georgia to attend their reunions. She was a graduate of Walter L. Cohen High School and Meadows Draughon Business College in New Orleans, LA. Prior to her health declining, Sandra was employed as a caregiver. She had an infectious smile and enjoyed dancing, shopping at thrift stores, knickknacks, plants and collecting short glasses. She was an avid New Orleans Saints fan, who embodied everything that was New Orleans. Devoted mother of Chiquentia M. Jenkins of Jackson, MS, Dwayne A. Jenkins, and D’Quan C. Jenkins. Loving grandmother of Nina Davis of Duluth, GA, Aja Purvis of Jackson, MS, Micaiah Francois, unborn grandbaby Jenkins, and granddoggy Bella. Mother-in-love of Rico Ward of Jackson, MS and Kiara Francis. Daughter of the late Genola E. Joseph. Granddaughter of the late Honoray Joseph, Lorenzia Raphael Joseph, Pierre O. Raphael, Felicia Hymel Raphael, John Joseph, and Mary Ann Holtz Joseph. Beloved sister of Robin Jenkins, Tyrone Jenkins, Honoray A. (Anita G.) Joseph, Sr., and the late Shelia Ann Jenkins. Cherished aunt of Semaj A. Jenkins, Jillisa O. Joseph, Jillana E. Joseph, Honoray A. Joseph, Jr., Jayden A. Joseph, and the late Nasya F. Joseph. Nieces of the late Catherine (Louis) Holmes, Elouise (Hayward) Victor, and David (Regina) Joseph. Godmother of the late Eric Rankings, Jr. Sandra was preceded in death by her sister-in-love Carol Thibeaux Jenkins and her lifelong friend Norna Armstead. She is also survived by a host of cousins, friends, and coworkers. Relatives and friends of the family, members of local churches, employees of UPS and Entergy are invited to attend the Homgoing Celebration at Davis Mortuary Service, 6820 Westbank Expressway, Marrero, LA on Saturday, November 23, 2024, at 10:00a.m. Rev. Mack Scott, officiating. Visitation will begin at 8:30a.m. until service time at the parlor.
