Sandra K. King "Granny" 81, passed away Monday, October 28, 2024 at Muskogee. She was born at Concord, California to Morris and Geneva (Mileham) Spessard. She grew up in Concord and graduated with the Mount Diablo High School class of '61. She was married to a boy from Rose Hill, Oklahoma named Wayne King on July 1, 1961 and made their home together. In 1972 they packed two kids, a bonus kid, three horses and everything else they owned into a station wagon and a one ton flatbed truck and began a weeklong journey to Oklahoma. Sandy and Wayne settled at Rose Hill raising kids, cattle, horses, and stray dogs. She was a longtime member of Stigler First Assembly of God Church for many years and Shiloh Assembly of God Church for the last several. She will be remembered as a strong and faithful Christian woman that led countless souls to the Lord. She was an unapologetic witness for Christ and expected everyone to follow him. She was a devoted Sunday School teacher for 30 plus years and loved her class. She was a loving, faithful wife and a wonderful Mother.
She is survived by her children, Michelle Eaton and husband Howard of Stigler, Jeff King and wife Teresa of Stigler; her grandchildren, Roger Thompson and Jessica, Brooks King and Caitlin, Amber and Merv Wallis all of Stigler; her great grandchildren, Lariat and Riggin Thompson, Lane Wallis all of Stigler; one brother, Ron Spessard and Kimberly of Martinez, CA.; two sisters in law, Pat Percifield of Rose Hill and Sandy Poteet of Stigler; many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, Morris and Geneva Spessard; her husband, Wayne King; her sister, Genie Jackson; her brother, Larry Spessard.
Funeral services will be 3:00 P.M. Friday, November 1, 2024 at Shiloh Assembly of God Church with Pastor Rick McElyea officiating. Pallbearers will be Roger Thompson, Brooks King, Howard Eaton, Mervin Wallis, Lariat Thompson, Riggin Thompson, Lane Wallis. Burial will follow at Sans Bois Cemetery under the direction of King & Shearwood Funeral Home of Stigler.
