Sandra Mae Peterson, affectionately known as Sandy, left this world on August 13, 2025, just days shy of her 70th birthday.
Born on August 22, 1955, Sandy was a retired Registered Nurse whose life was marked by compassion and care for others. Throughout her career in nursing, she touched the lives of many, providing comfort and support to those in need. Sandy was not only a dedicated professional but also the definition of a good mother and wife. Her love for her family was evident in every aspect of her life. She cherished the time spent camping and traveling with her loved ones, creating lasting memories that will be treasured forever. Her nurturing spirit extended beyond her immediate family; she was known for her exceptional skills in sewing, cooking, and crafting. Sandy had a special knack for planning gatherings, always eager to entertain and provide meals for friends and family, making her home a warm and welcoming space for all. She spent many years babysitting her beloved Huber kids.
A lifetime member of St. John Starlight, Sandy served in many capacities, reflecting her commitment to her community and her faith. Her contributions to the church and the lives of those around her were significant and will not be forgotten.
Sandy is survived by her devoted husband of nearly 48 years, John Peterson. She is also survived by her loving mother, JoAnn Sullivan; her daughter, Kristy (Kary) Kahle; her son, David (Elizabeth) Peterson; her beloved grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Khloe, and Koen; brother in-law and sister in-law, Chuck and Debbie Peterson; and many cousins, nieces and nephews. Additionally, she leaves behind her grand pups, Rusty and Willie, who brought joy to her life.
Sandy was preceded in death by her father, Boyd Sullivan, and her brother, Joe Sullivan.
As we remember her, we celebrate the remarkable woman she was-a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend whose legacy of love and service will continue to inspire those who knew her.
