Sandra Svenson Precht passed away at age 79 on February 18th, in her home in Arlington, MA. She is survived by her daughter Anna Precht, Anna's husband Adam Fischer, and their daughter Lillian, as well as her son, David Precht and his sons, Jonathan and Michael. Her brother Carlton Svenson, Jr, and sister Karla Svenson are also deeply impacted by and mourn her loss.
Born in Brockton, MA, Sandy was always dedicated to relationships with family and friends. She was the first to send a note or make a call, remaining connected with a wide circle of friends, many of whom she was close to through her whole life. In her young adult professional life, she oversaw the secretarial pool, as it was known, for the engineering firm Stone and Webster, where she met her husband, David (Dave) Precht. Marrying in 1973, she turned her attention away from work to raising her children and making the family home in Arlington, MA. She also developed a love of travel, taking memorable trips to countries around the world, Sweden, Germany, and China, to name a few. Dave passed away in 2016.
She was known throughout her life for her kindness and generosity-as well as her love for cooking and baking. Family holiday gatherings were anchor points in her years, integrating her parents' Swedish traditions with German foods that Dave was raised with. Every Christmas until her last, she made cookies and sent packages to friends and family, near and far, including her fan-favorite Swedish gingersnaps. Maintaining an active social life until her last day, Sandy will be missed by her many friends whom she saw regularly and held dear to her heart.
Services to remember and honor Sandra are being arranged by her family. In lieu of flowers, donations to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society are requested.
