Sandra Sheehan Obituary

Sandra D. Wilson Sheehan (Sandy), 71, was taken from this world in the early morning hours of October 14, 2025, at the Greenfield Healthcare Center, after years of declining health. Sandy was born in Rochester, Minnesota on September 20th, 1954. She was a Rushville resident during her high school years, and then again for these last three years. Preceding her in death were her parents, Jack and Evelyn Wilson. She is survived by her brothers Randy (Cherry) Wilson of Vancouver, WA and Patrick Wilson of Las Vegas, NV, her sister Kristy (Jim) Brunskill of Aurora, CO, one daughter, Cara Conn, and two grandsons, Alex Conn and Zayden Conn-Grimes, of Chicago, IL.
Sandy was a graduate of Rushville Consolidated High School in 1972. In high school, she was denied drafting classes because she was female. Only intervention on her behalf by her father allowed her to pursue her interest in that subject. Sandy went on to earn an Associate's degree in Drafting from Vincennes University in 1974, following her schooling with a career as a professional Drafter. Sandy reunited with her high school friend, John Guffin, on social media after 50 years, and they began a very fulfilling relationship for the last five years of Sandy's life. John was a great partner of hers, being there for her until her final days.
Sandy was an artist in her heart and had an eye for composition and color. This is reflected in her many craft skills. Her faux stained-glass creations and knitted projects are good examples. She was fond of making holiday decorations for her neighbors' doors. She loved music and art, and was also an avid phone photographer. Always one for a good game, she frequently organized the bingo games at the assisted-living facility where she resided. She loved nature, and was an avid camper. She was silly and had a zest for life. She was witty, comical, and quite corny at times. Sandy could make a simple silly word be fun.
She will be sorely missed by her friends, her family, and especially John.
Sandy's life was a series of adventures, not all of them good. Her suffering is finally at an end, and she is with her savior now. She touched so many lives with her humor and generosity, and made friends of long standing.
A celebration of her life will take place at Todd Funeral Center & Crematory 1600 S. SR 3 Rushville, IN 46173 on November 28th, from 3 PM to 7 PM.
