Funeral Services for Sandra K. Whittington McDonald will be held on Friday, February 28, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. from Laurel Hill Baptist Church with Bro. Todd Thornton and Bro. Ricky Callaway officiating. Interment will follow in the Church Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 27, 2025 from 4:00-7:00 p.m. at McClain-Hays Funeral Service and again on Friday, February 28, 2025 from 10:00 a.m. until 12 Noon at McClain-Hays.
Mrs. Sandra K. Whittington McDonald was born in Jackson MS, in the Van Winkle Community to Doug and Mary Whittington. She attended Clinton High School. Sandra and her husband owned Sports Stitchery for a number of years and she was also employed with Leake County Schools where she retired. She loved to do Christmas cut outs and paint them for display. Sandra was a long time member of Laurel Hill Baptist Church. She loved her church where she served as a long time Sunday school teacher and also prepared the church bulletin.
Survivors include her beloved husband, Scotty McDonald of Carthage, MS, daughter; Stacie Strickland (Chris) of Carthage, MS, grandchildren; Celsea Ivy (Taylor), Chloe Strickland, Christopher Strickland Jr. (Kristin), Logan Massey, Dylan Massey, Peyton Strickland, great grandchildren; Porter Ray Ivy, sisters; Jayne Mayo (Jerry), Pat Shelton, brothers; Doug Whittington Jr., Steve Whittington (Brenda),several nieces, nephews, and their families.
She is preceded in death by her parents; Doug and Mary Whittington, Sister; Edith Rees.
Pallbearers are Taylor Ivy, Logan Massey, Dylan Massey, Christopher Strickland Jr., Peyton Strickland, and Hugh Winstead.
