Sandra Lee Pohalski, affectionately known as "Sandy," peacefully passed away on Sunday, October 22, 2023, at the age of 81, surrounded by her beloved family at Brookdale Assisted Living in Wooster.
Sandy was born on December 5, 1941, in Wooster to Robert E. and Ann {Mandolin} Knepper. She graduated from Wooster High School in 1960 then embarked on a beautiful journey with the love of her life, Bernard Pohalski, whom she married on July 1, 1961. Bernard survives her.
For 27 years, Sandy dedicated her professional life as a micro photo camera operator at Bell & Howell, retiring in 2000. She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church. Beyond her work and faith, Sandy's skilled hands were always busy with knitting and crocheting, creating intricate and cherished pieces that touched the lives of many. Along with her family, Sandy owned and operated the Overholt House B&B and a greaseless donut business.
Sandy leaves behind a legacy of love and warmth that will be deeply missed by those who knew her best. She is survived by her loving husband, Bernard, and their children, Bernie (Buzz) Pohalski, Valerie Ann (Ben) Barner, Stephanie Lynn Stiffler, all of Wooster, and Jean Marie (Peter) Baxter of Nova Scotia, Canada; ten grandchildren and five great-grandchildren, who will forever cherish the love and wisdom she shared.
She is also survived by her sister, Bobbie (Charles) Walton of Haysville.
Sandy was preceded in death by her son-in-law, Ken Stiffler.
