Sanford L. Weiner, age 75, of Newton, Massachusetts, formerly of Gloversville, passed away, Thursday, October 4, 2024, at Brigham and Women's Hospital, Boston.
He was born May 14, 1949, in Gloversville, the son of Harold and Ruth (Cohen) Weiner. He was the 1967 Valedictorian of Gloversville High School and Summa Cum Laude Harvard University Class of 1971. He was a PhD candidate at MIT, where he was employed as a health policy analyst and professor. He loved to travel, especially to London, his home away from home.
Sanford is survived by a brother and sister, Robert Weiner (Barbara) of Gloversville and Nancy Weiner of Cambridge, Massachusetts; as well as a nephew, Michael Weiner; and a niece, Sarah Weiner (Jeremy LaPointe); and several cousins.
Services will take place 1:00 pm on Wednesday, October 9th at Knesseth Israel Synagogue, 34 E. Fulton St; Gloversville, with Rabbi Suzanne Schermerhorn officiating.
Interment will follow at Knesseth Israel Cemetery, Gloversville.
Instead of flowers, donations can be made to support Sandy's love of the National Theater in London at the American Associates of the National Theatre in the USA in New York.
