Santino Mario Calabro

Santino Mario Calabro, age 61, of West Hartford, CT, entered into eternal rest with our Lord on Monday, May 26, 2025, with his loving family by his side. Known affectionately to all as Tino, he was born on November 2, 1963, in Caracas, Venezuela, to Giuseppe and Nunziata Calabro. To capture the essence of this beautiful person, is to know his love for Italy and the the Italian culture that he was so passionate about. He graduated from Bristol Central High School and pursued a career in financial services, where he found both purpose and professional fulfillment. Tino's love for sports, especially soccer, was lifelong and passionate, but it was his love and dedication to his family that truly defined his life and gave it purpose.
Tino met the love of his life, Janet Maiocco, while working at CT Mutual Life Insurance. Together, they built a beautiful life and raised two cherished daughters, Sofia and Sienna. A devoted father, Tino not only coached both of his daughters in soccer, but also mentored countless other young players, instilling in them not only athletic skills but also lasting life lessons. Tino touched the lives of many, and will be missed by all.
He was predeceased by his uncles Alphonso, Giovanni, Seb and Aunt Angela, his mother and father-in-law Frances and Vincent Maiocco, and nephew Greg Zurlis. Tino is survived by his beloved wife Janet, his daughters Sofia and Sienna, his loving parents Giuseppe and Nunziata Calabro, his brother Carmelo, wife Lynne, and children Joseph and Bella along with a tremendous loving Maiocco family, close friends and family here and in Italy. Services will be held at Molloy Funeral Home (West Hartford) on Monday, June 2, from 4-7pm. A funeral Mass will be held at St. Thomas the Apostle Church (West Hartford) on Tuesday, June 3, at 11am.
