Sara Anne Linderman passed away on Sunday, November 30th. Sara was born and raised in Carmel, Indiana, the daughter of Dr. Richard B. Linderman and Jane Linderman, sister to Gregory Linderman. Sara was a graduate of Carmel High School, where she excelled at swimming, violin, and academics. She earned a B.S. in Business from Wake Forest University and went on to earn an M.B.A. from UCLA School of Management. Sara always dreamed of moving to California, and built her life and friendships in both San Francisco and Los Angeles. Sara was as bright as she was adventurous. She had an unquenchable thirst for travel, instilled in her by her parents from a young age. She traveled the world, planning for and taking a personal sabbatical in 2019. She spent time in France, Mozambique, Sri Lanka, and the Komodo Islands, where she became a divemaster. Her final stop being in Sri Lanka, she found and adopted her beloved Charlie girl, a sinhala hound that she met while volunteering at the animal shelter. Charlie took her first plane ride, and joined her stateside to be her loving companion. She was a doting and dutiful Aunt to her niece Estelle Anne, who is named after her, and nephew, Clark. She was always playful and silly with them. Sara was a master of fun, always the one to get the group together for a trip, a party, or to teach you how to make an exuberantly shaken martini. She was an accomplished skier and considered the family historian. She was a prolific writer, documenting family trips and important life events that drew you in and reminded all of how special we are to one another. She had a gift for forming deep, lasting friendships that stayed with her through every chapter of life.
Sara followed a dream and pursued her passion for serving others, and entered medical school late in life. Her commitment -- to her work, her friendships, and her family -- was rare, and her loss is immeasurable. She will be deeply missed.
Sara is survived by her parents, Dr. Richard B Linderman and Jane Linderman; her brother, Lieutenant Commander Gregory Linderman (Jessica); niece and nephew, Estelle and Clark Linderman; numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins; and countless friends. She is preceded in death by her grandparents.
Funeral services will be on Friday, December 5, 2025, at 11:00 am. A private family burial will follow.
The family requests that donations be made in Sara's memory to The Cure Rare Foundation, a nonprofit organization dedicated to accelerating the research and development of treatments and cures for rare genetic diseases.
