Sarah Lorraine Kennedy 89, of St. Joseph, MO, passed away Saturday, January 7, 2023 at her home. She was born March 2, 1933 in Breckenridge, MO, daughter of the late Mildred and Donald McCrary. She graduated from Kidder MO High School, and she was a homemaker. She enjoyed dancing, fishing, canning, working puzzles, sewing, gardening, raising chickens, and milking cows, but most especially spending time with her family. Sarah attended the Freeman Chapel Free Will Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Wesley Edwin Kennedy, granddaughter, Olivia, and brother, Lawrence McCrary. Survivors include: daughter, Sandra (James) Brock, St. Joseph, MO, sons: Wesley "Allie" (Vicki) Kennedy, St. Joseph, MO, Randy Kennedy, Easton, MO, Jim (Brenda) Kennedy, Stewartsville, MO, Billy Kennedy, St. Joseph, MO, and David (Angie) Kennedy, St. Joseph, MO, brothers, Cecil "Dean" McCrary, Jamesport, MO and Charles McCrary, Lee's Summit, MO, sisters, Mildred Warner, St. Joseph, MO and Evelyn Kay Arnold, Rancho Cucamunga, CA, sister in law, Janice McCrary, and 16 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, 8 step grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 6-8:00 PM on Tuesday at the Rupp Funeral Home. Funeral services and public live stream; 10:00 am, Wednesday, January 11, 2023 at the Rupp Funeral Home, Pastor Vernon Maggert officiating. The Interment will be at the Kidder Cemetery.
