Scott Nickolas D'Attilio, age 52 of West Des Moines, Iowa passed away on Monday. September 9, 2024, at the Kavanaugh House in Des Moines.
Scott was born on September 3, 1972, in Chariton, Iowa, the son of Jerry and Waunita (Williams) D'Attilio. He graduated from Morman Trail High School with the class of 1991. He then attended Grand View College in Des Moines. Scott was employed with Wells Fargo. Scott was an avid fan of the Iowa Hawkeyes, Pittsburgh Steelers and the Chicago Cubs. He had attended the Last Chance Christian Church.
Scott is survived by his father Jerry D'Attilio of Derby, Iowa, his brother Tony (Ann) D'Attilio of Chariton, Iowa his sister Linda Kirby of Ankeny, Iowa his nieces and nephew; Riley Kirby of Des Moines, Iowa, Zy D'Attilio of Chariton, Iowa and Mariah D'Attilio of Chariton, Iowa. He was preceded in death by his grandparents and his mother Waunita D'Attilio.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, September 12, 2024, at 10:30 am at the Fielding Funeral Home in Chariton. The family will receive friends from 9:30 – 10:30 at the funeral home. Burial will follow at the Goshen Cemetery near Derby.
A memorial has been established to the Mission Cancer Center in Des Moines, Iowa and contributions can be left at or mailed to the Fielding Funeral Home.
The family wishes to thank Mission Cancer Center, Dr.Mery, Ashley, Dr. Lin and the staff at the Kavanaugh House for their kind and compassionate care shown to Scott and his family.
The Fielding Funeral Home in Chariton is honored to care for and minister to the D'Attilio family at this time.
