Scott Kenson Marbut
March 12, 1942 - June 15, 2025
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Scott Kenson Marbut, who departed this life peacefully on June 15, 2025, at the age of 83. Born on March 12, 1942, in Macon, Georgia, to the late John Wesley Marbut, Sr. and Dorothy Davis Marbut, Scott was a loving and devoted son, brother, father, grandfather, and friend.
Scott graduated from Lanier High School in Macon. He attended Presbyterian College and Southern Tech. He worked in the family business, the Marbut Company Plumbing Supply, for years, and then broke off to start his own plumbing and mechanical contracting business. He had a passion for math, history, and reading. He loved to shoot guns and was a scratch golfer.
The last four years, Scott made his home at Heartis Senior Living in Suwanee, Georgia, where he was loved. He was known for giving treats to all the dogs, feeding the birds daily, doing puzzles, attending bible study and bingo.
Scott was preceded in death by his father, John Wesley Marbut Sr., and his beloved mother, Dorothy Davis Marbut, whom he cared for along with his father and brother as she fought a long battle with Lou Gehrig's Disease. He was known to stop by almost daily to play cards with his father after his mother passed away. He lost his older brother, John Wesley Marbut Jr. in 2010. Scott is survived by his daughter, Laura Price and son-in-law, Mark Price, and their children, Brittany Aiello (Justin), Caroline King (Kevin), Hudson Price, and Josh Price (Meredith); his oldest son, John Marbut, and his children, Jack, Kenson, and Holt Marbut; and his youngest son, Jimmy Marbut, and daughter-in-law, Elizabeth Marbut, and their children Bailey and Seth Marbut. He was also blessed with two great-grandchildren, Atticus and Lily.
Scott's spirit will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him, and he will be dearly missed. Friends and family are invited to join us in remembering Scott's life and the many ways he touched our hearts.
A Celebration of Life service will take place on Friday, June 27, 2025 at 11:00 am in the Peachtree Corners Chapel of Crowell Brothers Funeral Homes & Crematory, with visitation beginning at 10:00 am. A graveside service will follow at 3:00 pm at Riverside Cemetery & Conservancy in Macon, Georgia.
