Scott Anthony Milburn, of
Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, passed away peacefully on December 23, 2025, at the age of 69, surrounded by the love of his family.
Scott was born and raised in Maryland, graduating in 1974 from Franklin High School (Reisterstown, MD) and later from the University of Baltimore, earning a degree in accounting. He completed all coursework toward his MBA at Mount St. Mary's College. He devoted more than 40 years to a career in healthcare finance, a journey that took his family to many homes across several states. Wherever life led, Scott's greatest priority was his family, creating a sense of adventure and togetherness wherever they landed.
A loving husband, father, and grandfather, Scott had a playful spirit and a deep belief in the magic of everyday life, which he joyfully passed on to his children. He filled ordinary moments with laughter and connection through building fairy houses in the backyard, dancing around the living room to his favorite music, and spending countless hours playing Nintendo together. He found joy in life's simple pleasures: playing with his beloved dogs, Raven and Tucker; card games and blackjack; reading; bird watching; bowling; and listening to music, often singing along enthusiastically when a favorite song came on. Drawn to the water, Scott spent countless days at the pool and the beach, where he taught his children to swim, body surf, and develop a lasting appreciation for the ocean.
Family meant everything to Scott, and that love extended beyond immediate relatives. Scott loved sharing stories of his childhood adventures and often reminisced about time spent with his cousins and family, especially the many competitive games of Risk that brought everyone together. Later in life, he especially treasured time spent with his brother Barry through playing cards and fishing.
A devoted football fan, Scott shared his love for the Baltimore Ravens with his daughter, Kaitlin, often calling her to discuss players and games. On the collegiate front, Scott was a longtime ACC supporter, known to proudly chant "ACC". He later became a Buckeye fan through his wife's family, cheering on Ohio State as well as Florida State. March madness was always a fun time of year for Scott as he enjoyed the pools in hopes of a big win.
Scott fought a courageous battle over the past year and a half, meeting each challenge with strength and determination. He spent his final days surrounded by those he loved most a comfort that meant everything to him.
Scott is survived by his loving wife of 36 years, Donna; his children, Aimie Schneider, Jessica Cobert (Ray), and Kaitlin Petersen (Kyle); his grandchildren, Teagan, Tristan, Claire, Ryan, Michael, and Caleb; his brother, Barry Milburn (Carol), his mother in law, Dortha Haskins, along with his nieces, nephews, many cousins and in laws. He was preceded in death by his brother, Michael Milburn, and his parents, Teresa Carol Milburn and Alan Lee Milburn.
Scott will be remembered for his big heart, his deep love for his family, his sense of wonder, and the countless memories he created that will be treasured forever.
A celebration of life with immediate family will be held at a later date.
