Scott Timberman, age 64, of Elmer, NJ and formerly of Wrightstown, NJ, passed away on Monday, September 2, 2024. Born in Bridgeton, NJ, he was the son of David L. Timberman and Marian Lisle Timberman. Scott started high school in Bridgeton, however switched to Schalick High School in Pittsgrove, to become part of the first graduating class of 1978. At the age of 18, Scott joined the Elmer Fire Department and became a lifetime member. He served as Vice President in 1983, was President from 1984-1986 and was serving as Treasurer at the time he passed away. He was also a member of the New Jersey State Firemen's Association.
Over the years, Scott worked at the Elmer Service Center, the family's gas station and repair shop, as well as Brad's Red Tavern. In 1995, Scott moved to Wrightstown, NJ and owned and operated Kelly's Bar for over 20 years. During his time in Wrightstown, he also served on their Borough Council and was elected and served as Mayor. In 2021, he moved back to Elmer to be closer to family.
Scott is survived by his father David L. Timberman; his siblings Pamela Timberman, Brian Timberman and Alicia (Nelson), Eric Timberman and Lourdes (Correa), Leigh Timberman and Bridget (Enright); his nieces and nephews Jaclyn (Robert), Shawn (Charles), Alyssa, Lainey, Kristina, Alec, Kevin, and Connor; and his great nephews Robert James and Liam. He was predeceased by his mother Marian Lisle Timberman.
A celebration of Scott's life will be held on Friday, September 20, 2024, at Adams Funeral Home, 111 S. Main Street, Elmer, NJ 08318. There will be a visitation starting at 10 AM leading to the memorial service at 11 AM. Interment will follow at Chestnut Grove Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that donations be made in Scott's memory to the Elmer Fire Department, PO Box 459, Elmer, NJ 08318. www.adamsfuneralhome.org
