Sean Michael Bannon, 45, of Carbondale, died suddenly on Wednesday February 12th.
Born in Carbondale, son of Rita Enslin Bannon, Carbondale, and the late Gerald P. Bannon, Sr., he was a member of Our Lady of the Rosary Parish, Carbondale. He was a graduate of Carbondale Area High School, and was currently employed at Pinky's Restaurant, Carbondale, where he was a longtime employee. He was a volunteer with the St. Francis of Assisi Kitchen. Sean loved animals and had a kind heart. He enjoyed watching sports, and he was a foodie, especially when it came to sweets.
Also surviving are two sisters: Mary Ann Mohr, Millville; Carbondale Mayor Michele Bannon; a brother: James Bannon and wife Sheryl, Langhorne; a sister-in-law: Donna Bannon, Carbondale; two nephews: Donald Davis and husband Robby; Gerald Bannon; two nieces: Kristina Kemble and fiancé Zach Dorundo; Alexa Bannon; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
He was also preceded in death by two brothers: Gerald J. Bannon, Jr. and Matthew Bannon.
The funeral will be Monday, February 17th with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am in St. Rose of Lima Church, Carbondale. Private interment, Our Mother of Sorrows Cemetery, Finch Hill. Friends may call Sunday at the Brennan & Brennan Funeral Home, Inc., 55 Lincoln Avenue, Carbondale, from 2 to 5 pm. All those attending the funeral on Monday are asked to go directly to the church.
Memorial donations may be made to the Greater Carbondale YMCA, 82 N. Main St, Carbondale, PA 18407, or to St. Francis of Assisi Kitchen, 500 Penn Ave, Scranton, PA 18503.
