Shad Allen Campbell, 51, of Mendon, passed away at Barnes Jewish Hospital on Monday, December 2, 2024, in St. Louis, MO.
Shad's journey began as the son of Edward Lee Sr. and Mary Jane (Anders) Campbell and later married the love of his life, Victoria Irwin, on July 17, 2010, at the scenic Villa Katherine. Victoria remains to cherish his memory and continue his legacy. He was a devoted father to his five children, Cody Denton, Josephine Altgilbers, Tegan Lee Campbell, Kyleigh Ray Campbell, and Keytin Allen David Campbell, who will remember him as a pillar of strength and love. Shad also leaves behind his caring mother, Mary Jane; his brothers, Edward Campbell Jr. and James Campbell (Kim); and numerous adoring nieces and nephews, all of whom will miss his presence deeply.
Shad was preceded in death by his father, Edward Lee Sr., and his grandparents, Lola Campbell and Harry and Evelena Anders.
A graduate of Quincy High School in 1992, he went on to earn a degree in Supply Chain Management from Sullivan University. For over two decades, Shad served as the General Manager at Coast to Coast International, where he cultivated his passion for logistics and led his team with integrity and innovation. His faith was an important aspect of his life, and he was an active member of The Crossing 48th street church.
Shad's zest for life was evident in his wide array of hobbies and interests. An avid pool player, he was always ready for a friendly game, and his love for the open road was embodied in his treasured Harley Davidson Street Glide, affectionately known as "The Mistress." His adventurous spirit took him on thrilling rides, including the winding turns of the Tail of the Dragon. A rock music aficionado, Shad reveled in the energy of live concerts, with bands like Motley Crue, Guns and Roses, and Poison topping his list of favorites. His encounters with rock legends, including sharing a beer with Sammy Hagar, were among his most cherished memories.
Shad's enthusiasm extended to sports, where he loyally supported the Minnesota Vikings, the St. Louis Cardinals, and the Unity Mustangs. Yet, beyond all his interests, Shad's heart belonged to his family. He found immense joy in watching his children's sporting events and sharing impromptu dance sessions in the kitchen with his wife.
Shad Allen Campbell's life was one of joy, commitment, and love. His legacy will live on in the hearts of those he touched, and his memory will be a guiding light for his family and friends.
Friends and Family are invited to Shad's Life Celebration at a visitation that will be Monday, December 9, 2024, from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at O'Donnell-Cookson Life Celebration Home in Quincy, IL.
Memorial contributions may be made to Tori Campbell for the children's education fund.
