Shaleeah Milan Bruff, affectionately known by family members as "Lee Lee", departed this life on Sunday, March 31, 2024, at Saint Francis Hospital. Born on July 31, 2001, to Tacaya Bruff. Shaleeah's radiant spirit touched the lives of all who knew her.
A graduate of Newington High School with honors, Shaleeah pursued her passion for criminology at the esteemed Howard University in Washington, DC. Despite facing unforeseen challenges, she persevered, recently completing all requirements for her Bachelor of Arts Degree. She was scheduled to attend her graduation ceremony on May 10, 2024, and was unfortunately taken away from us too soon. Shaleeah's family was extremely proud of all her hard work, resilience, strength, and determination to graduate, and is devastated that she cannot attend the graduation that she worked so hard for.
Dreaming of becoming a judge and preparing to attend law school, Shaleeah's determination was matched only by her warmth and kindness. To know her was to love her; she was a beacon of light, always respectful and obedient, leaving an indelible mark as a role model for all.
Shaleeah leaves behind cherished memories with her beloved family, including her aunts, Tahira Bruff of East Hartford and Denise Mitchell of Bloomfield; uncle, Tahir Bruff of Bloomfield; and her special sister, Kayla Duckworth of Bloomfield. She will also be deeply missed by her special cousins, Hassan Perry of East Hartford, Iyanna Bruff of Manchester, and Shambriel Battles of Hartford; along with her grandmother, Althea Stewart of Kingston, Jamaica; and a host of cousins and relatives.
Her mother would like to acknowledge additional family support in her life, who were very special to her and played a crucial role in her life. She recognizes the invaluable role played by Mrs. Janett Grose, Waine Grose, and Zanita Grose of Atlanta, and numerous extended family members that she grew to love and care for, no matter what the circumstances were, and they shared a special unbreakable bond with her.
Predeceased by her great-grandmother, Thelma G. Harris; great-uncle, Lloyd Hentley; uncle, Shedrack Bruff; and grandfather, Patrick Bruff. Shaleeah's legacy of love, resilience, and compassion will forever live on in the hearts of those she touched.
