Shannon Renee Ziss, 41, passed away surrounded by loving family and friends on Wednesday, August 20, 2025 at Promedica Toledo Hospital. She was born on June 19, 1984 in Findlay. Ohio.
Left to cherish her memory are her parents, Duane and Beth Ziss; her uncle, David VanAtta; aunts,
Darlene (Doug) Perkins and Debra Chamberlin; cousins, Allison Perkins, Alissa Perkins, and Stephanie
Glaudel; and fur babies, Daisy and Bear.
She was proceeded in death by her grandparents, Murvin and Mary VanAtta, and Merlin and Loraina
Ziss; and her uncle, David Ziss.
She was a 2002 graduate of Findlay High School, and earned an Associate of Arts Degree from Owens Community College.
On November 6, 2010, she married Christopher Gorman and they later divorced.
She had worked as a bookkeeper, customer service professional, and income tax agent. She also helped
with the family business, Ziss Custom Glass. Shannon was very creative. She especially enjoyed photography and liked to experiment with different photographic techniques. Some of her favorite things to photograph were snowflakes, flowers, and
animals. She was able to capture amazing detail in her pictures. She also enjoyed jewelry making, drawing, painting, reading, and learning foreign languages.
She was a member of the Findlay Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses and loved to share her Bible based hope for a better future with others. (Revelation 21:4)
A memorial will be held for her at the Findlay Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses, 9935 State Route 12
West, Findlay, Ohio, on Saturday September 6, 2025 at 2:00pm. Visitation will start at 1:00pm. Mike
Gearhart will officiate.
