Sharon Brooks Obituary

She attended West Chester University before earning her associate's degree at Bucks County Community College. Mrs. Brooks was a successful media sales representative for the Hearst Corporation. Sharon volunteered mentoring and tutoring the after-school program at New Horizons of Southwest Florida, the Neighborhood Outreach Program in Newtown, PA and co-chaired the United Way in Bonita Bay.
She was an avid tennis player who also enjoyed golf, horseback riding, snow skiing, traveling and a lifelong Cubs fan. Sharon cherished summers, as a child in Lake Charlevoix, MI and as an adult at her home "Brooks Haven" in the Outer Banks with her husband and children. Sharon was a member of the Bonita Bay Club and Thompson Memorial Church.
Sharon is preceded in death by her treasured brother David and survived by her beloved husband of 41 years, Gary J. Brooks; loving daughter, Megan (Justin) Hermann of Annapolis, MD and Kelsey (Sean) Montellese of Fairfield, CT; brothers, John (Sarah) Brodie of Staunton, VA, Chris Brodie of Staunton, VA; sisters, Mary Pat (Hans) Cooper of Christmas, FL, Barbara (David) Beachler of Silver Spring, MD; and cherished grandchildren, James, Waverly, Quinn, William and Georgia.
A memorial service will be celebrated on Monday, October 7, 2024 at 11:00 AM at Thompson Memorial Church, 1680 Aquetong Road, New Hope, PA 18938. A luncheon will follow.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Sharon's name may be made to New Horizons of SWFL, P.O Box 111833, Naples, FL 34108.

Arrangements are being handled by Shikany's Bonita Funeral Home, Family Owned Since 1978.
