Sharon Sue (Collins) Stalnaker, 73, of Weston, WV passed away on Wednesday, February 26, 2025, at her home following a brief illness. Sharon was born in Weston, WV November 27, 1951: daughter of the late R. Gerald and Edna Virginia (Dobbins) Collins.
Sharon is survived by her husband Doug at home. She is also survived by her brother, Dr. Steven W. Collins, his wife, Janie, their daughter, Emily and her great niece, Lucy all of Winston-Salem, NC. Sharon is also survived by a brother-in-law, Samuel M. Bailey of Weston, nephew, Brian Bailey, his wife, Tina, of Jane Lew, WV and her niece, Lisa Bailey of Gastonia, NC. She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Janice S. Bailey.
Sharon graduated from Lewis County High School with the class of 1969. She was always proud of the "Class of 69." Sharon graduated from Glenville State College now University in 1972 and began her career in education. Sharon taught for 29 years in Lewis County before finishing her career the last 8 years at RESA 7 in Fairmont and Clarksburg. Sharon received her Master's plus 45 from West Virginia University.
Sharon loved to travel, play on her iPad, watch the Gameshow network, when she was able make crafts and spoil all her fur babies as only she could.
The family would like to express their gratitude to the staff at WVU Hospice for their compassionate care.
At Sharon's request, she will be cremated under the care of Hardman Family Funeral Home's Onsite Crematory with a Celebration of Life Service being held at a later date. Online condolences and life stories may be expressed in memory of Sharon at hardmanfamilyfuneralhome.com.
