Sharon Kay Thom

Sharon Kay Thom, 68 of Kawkawlin, passed away Friday, July 18, 2025 at her home. She was born December 7, 1956 in Lapeer, daughter of the late Lee and Nancy (Geoit) Whiteman. Sharon grew up in Metamora and graduated from Lapeer West High School. On July 23, 1976, she married Daniel C. Thom. Sharon was gifted in crafts and especially enjoyed quilting and embroidery. She was a talented cook and baker, known for her famous cupcakes and other sweet treats. Sharon loved keeping in touch with family and friends through her hand written letters and cards for every occasion, even if it was just to say "Hello". Her faith in God was shown in her life daily and her bible was read frequently.

Sharon is survived by her husband, Daniel Thom; son, Randy (Tammie) Thom; grandchildren; Raymond Buyers and Mariah Buyers; sister-in-law, Ann Whiteman; and brother-in-law, William Geasa. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Richard Whiteman and sisters, Charlotte Whiteman and Patricia Geasa.

Funeral services for Sharon will take place at 3 p.m. Sunday, July 27, 2025 from Ware Smith Woolever Funeral Home, 1200 West Wheeler Street in Midland. Her family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday from 1 p.m. until the time of service. Interment will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, July 28, 2025 in Burnside Township Cemetery. All of us at Ware Smith Woolever are honored the Thom family has entrusted us with the care of their loved one.
