Sharon Toelle, 76, of Evansville, passed away surrounded by family June 21, 2025, at Linda White Hospice House in Evansville. She was born in Evansville, Indiana, May 29, 1949 to the late Henry and Dortha (Garst) Radigan.
Sharon was a 1968 graduate of North Posey High School, where she formed lifelong friendships and laid the foundations for her future. She retired from Keller-Crescent's bindery department after 20 years of service. Her colleagues remember her as a diligent and reliable worker, whose presence brought comfort and stability to the workplace.
Sharon found pleasure in the simple things in life. She was an excellent cook, often spending hours in the kitchen preparing meals that would bring her family together around the table. Sharon's love of antiques reflected her appreciation for history and storytelling, and her keen interest in politics kept her engaged with the world around her.
Her selflessness was not just a trait but a way of life, as she continually put the needs of others before her own.
Sharon's heart truly belonged to her family. She was a loving mother to Lisa (Greg) Brickey and Robert "Bob" (Tricia) Toelle. Her role as a grandmother was one she cherished deeply, showering love and attention on her grandchildren, Ashlee Bowman, Reid Brickey, and Mitchell (Aileen) Slagle. Sharon's joy multiplied with the arrival of her great-grandchildren, Emerson Morrow, Avalynn Mason, Xyla, Ivanna, and Sawyer Slagle. She is also survived by her sister, Betty (Dennis) Tenhumberg; brother, Roger (Jodi) Radigan; brothers-in-law, Rodney McIntosh and John (Rosie) Toelle; sister-in-law, Beverly Toelle; and several cousins, nieces and nephews.
Sharon was preceded in death by her parents; husband, David Toelle of 29 years, who passed April 5, 2001; sister, Theresa McIntosh; brother-in-law, Bill Blaine; sister-in-law, Sharon Blaine; nephews, Jonathon DeFur and Joseph "Joe" DeFur.
Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 25, 2025 at Ziemer Funeral Home Central Chapel, 626 N. First Ave., Evansville. A Funeral service will begin at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Greg Davis officiating.
Burial will be held at Alexander Memorial Park Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 6704, Hagerstown, MD 21741.
The family would like to thank the caring staff at Deaconess Midtown, especially the 3600 wing and Linda E. White Hospice House, for their compassionate care of Sharon.
