Shawn Matthew Bowersox, 30, of Apollo, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, May 27, 2025.
Born September 23, 1994 in Pittsburgh, he was a son of Michael E. "Mike" Bowersox and Jody L. (Hughes) Bowersox.
Shawn was a 2014 graduate of Apollo-Ridge High School, and was the manager at the Vocelli Pizza in Vandergrift for many years. Shawn was a member of the Apollo Free Methodist Church.
He enjoyed playing video games, and target shooting at the Vandergrift Sportsmen's Club.
Shawn was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Louis Bowersox & Bernice (Edwin) Adams; maternal grandparents, Harold R. Hughes, Sr. & Helen Santy; and his uncle, Terry "Yush" Bowersox.
Shawn is survived by his father, Michael E. "Mike" (Beth Abell) Bowersox of Apollo; mother, Jody L. (Hughes) Bowersox of Apollo; brother, Brandon M. Bowersox of Apollo; stepsister, Harley (Aaron) Petsel of Natrona Heights; stepbrothers, Tyler Abbell of Kittanning, Jordan Abbell of Apollo; grandfather, John Santy, Jr. of North Apollo; niece, Riley Petsel; aunts and uncles, Randy (Vickie) Bowersox of Apollo, Donna (Patrick) Wysocki of Kiski Township, Harold R. (Bonnie) Hughes, Jr. of Apollo, Kristen (Frank) Santy of Natrona Heights; numerous cousins; and last but not least, his beloved dog, Peanut.
Friends will be received in the Curran-Shaffer Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 100 Owens View Ave., Apollo, on Friday, May 30, 2025 from 4:00 p.m. until the hour of service at 6:00 p.m. in the funeral home with Pastor Erica Rabickow officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Shawn's memory to the Orphans Of The Storm, 11878 PA Route 85, Kittanning, PA 16201.
