Shawn Michael Montgomery, Sr., 31, of Frankfort, passed away unexpectedly, Sunday, August 25, 2024. He was born January 28, 1993, in Frankfort to Jerry Langkop, Jr. and Mary (Montgomery) Cunningham.
Shawn attended Frankfort Senior High School. Shawn worked for Wampler’s. He enjoyed fishing, camping and working on cars. He was a tinkerer and liked to take things apart and see how they worked and trying to put them back together, and was sometimes successful, sometimes not so much. He loved his family. He was always giving them hugs and showing them affection in his unique way. Shawn found the fun and joy in life and was known for telling jokes, pulling pranks and sharing in laughter with his friends and family.
Along with his parents, Jerry (Betty) Langkop and Mary (James Watkins) Cunningham, Shawn is survived by his son, Shawn Michael Montgomery, Jr.; sisters, Angel (Greg Moyer) Taylor, Ashley (Austin) Harness; brother, Jeremy (Dana Chamberlain) Langkop; step-siblings, Stacy Shannon and Kevin Bray, Taylor (Kayla) Bray; grandparents, Jerry and Carol Langkop, Sr., and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents Karen Sue Sibray and David Earl Montgomery, Sr. and a special cousin Kyle Langkop.
Visitation will be held Friday, August 30, 2024, from 11am until the time of service at 1pm at Day & Genda Funeral Home in Frankfort. Burial will follow at Jefferson Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made in Shawn’s honor to the family to assist with the funeral expenses. Messages of condolence may be left at www.dayandgenda.com.
