Sheila Jean Coe Luba was born on March 18, 1948, in Erie, Pennsylvania, to Mary Anne McGrath and Frank Richard Coe. She passed away peacefully on May 13, 2025, after a long and courageous battle with Parkinson's disease & COPD.
Sheila is survived by her devoted husband of 53 years, Steven Luba; her daughter, Amy Luba of Midwest City, OK; her sons, Steven Jr. of Columbus, OH, and Brian Luba of Midwest City, OK; her beloved grandsons, Matthew and Steven Johnson III; and her cherished great-grandsons, Kevin and Steven. Also holding a special place in her heart were her two loyal dogs, Peppy and Maggie.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers Frank (2012) and Ronald (2006), and is remembered lovingly by her surviving siblings: Diane Eggleston of Erie, PA; Mary Pralat of Ellijay, GA; Gerard Coe of Orlando, FL; and Teresa Coe and Laura Hartley, both of Deltona, FL. She also leaves behind her lifelong friends, Chris Tatalone and Toni Giacobello Borden, whose enduring friendships brought her much joy.
Sheila dedicated 35 years of her professional life to the Social Security Administration, serving in Washington, D.C., Arlington, VA, Meadville, PA, Piqua, OH, and Shawnee, OK. Her integrity, compassion, and commitment left a lasting impact on colleagues and those she served. A woman of strong faith, she was a proud and active member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in McLoud, OK, for 25 years.
Sheila will be remembered for her warmth, resilience, and unwavering devotion to her family. She was a woman of quiet strength, deep compassion, and quick wit, always ready with a kind word, a thoughtful gesture, or a comforting presence. Her life was rooted in service, whether through her decades of work with the Social Security Administration, her volunteer efforts within her church community, or the countless ways she showed up for those she loved. Sheila had a gift for making people feel seen and valued, and her home was always open, filled with laughter, and stories. Her legacy is one of grace, kindness, and enduring love, and she leaves behind a family forever grateful to have been guided by her example. Though she is no longer with us in body, her spirit will continue to shine in the hearts of all who had the blessing of knowing her.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Sheila's memory to Good Shepherd Hospice of Oklahoma City (4350 Will Rogers PKWI, STE 400, OKC, OK 73108), whose care and support were a blessing in her final days.
A funeral mass will be held on May, 17th 2025 at ST Vincent De Paul Catholic Church (123 S 9th St, McLoud, Oklahoma 74851) at 10:00 a.m. To send flowers to the family or plant a tree in memory of Sheila, please visit our floral store.
