Sheila Crosby Reese, 66, of Surrency, Georgia passed away September 12, 2024, at home surrounded by her family and friends after a short illness. Proving to be a firecracker, she was born on July 4, 1958 in Baxley, GA to John Leon “J.L” and Madeline “Moss” Tomberlin Crosby.

Sheila married the love of her life, Billy, while still in high school. Together, they created a life of living, laughing, and loving. She graduated from Appling County High School and went to work briefly with the Appling General Hospital. Sheila spent her life as a stay-at-home mom, pouring into her three daughters. She raised three strong girls who all believe they are her favorite, because she made each one feel as if they were the most important person to her!

Always in on the action and being the involved parent, Sheila drove a school bus for many sporting events. She was the softball mom for not only her daughters, but her love extended to every girl on the team.

Lovingly referred to as “GiGi”, Sheila has always been her family’s biggest cheerleader. Her three grandkids were her world and she constantly reminded them that her love for them went “all the way to the moon and back.”

Family was everything to Sheila. Life was the best when she had those she loved most around her laughing, making syrup, cooking or baking, telling stories around a bonfire, traveling to the beach or the mountains, or playing cards.

Sheila was extremely gifted with creativity and used that gift in decorating and making some of the most beautiful and unique crafts. Coleman Creek Crafts, Scents for the Soul, and Board Again are three businesses that Sheila poured her heart into. Charcuterie boards she and Billy created were sent all around the world, even to Africa! She also used her gift to serve her church in decorating and remodeling. Her heart to help would always lead her to a friend or family member that was wanting to do something different in their home. Sheila would be right in the middle of it, adding her special touch!

Sheila is survived by her husband of 49 years, William “Billy” Reese of Surrency, GA; daughters, Shea (Buddy) Kersey of Baxley GA, Brandy (Neal) Griffin of Surrency, GA, and Kylee (Scotty) Herndon of East Dublin GA; grandchildren, Braxton McNeal, Wren Griffin, and Cora Griffin; brother, Johnny Crosby of Jacksonville Beach, FL; sister, Brenda (Ranze) Harper of Surrency, GA; sister in law Joan Collins (R.D.) of Lyons, GA; nieces and nephews, Christy (Randy) Crawford of Surrency, GA, Ike Crosby & Keri Crosby Orvin of Baxley, GA, Bradley Hughes of Tarrytown Ga, Kelli Hughes of Barnesville, GA, and Heather Williams of Dublin, GA.

Funeral Services will be held, Sunday, September 15, 2024 at 3:00 PM at Zion Church of God in Surrency, Georgia with Reverend Danny Horne and Reverend Scotty Herndon officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

Active pallbearers will be Randy Crawford, Ike Crosby, Keith Miles, Will Miles, Aaron Poole, Blake Poole, Odie Tomberlin and Brian Wheat.
