Sheila and I became friends rather late in life. She was in her late sixties and I was already in my seventies. Both of us were therapists and we enjoyed life long learning that had given us more insight into clients lives as well as our own. In 2023, she and I and our friend Arthur Neal were talking one day about metaphysical writers we had read and both of them had read some of Joel Goldsmith's writings and Sheila and I had both studied astrology. I had not read Goldsmith who had studied and practiced healing from the 1920's until his death in the mid-1960s. We decided to study Goldsmith's best known book on spiritual healing, The Infinite Way, and for much of 2023 met at my house every other Saturday afternoon to read and discuss Goldsmith's writings and lectures. We would read a chapter, or listen to some of his lectures on Youtube and talk for several hours as we munched on snacks and non-alcoholic drinks. These readings and discussions affected all three of us very much and we recommend them to others. We all were affected by his approach and his profound effect on people who benefited from his work. As I read Goldsmith, I felt as if I were coming home again or perhaps at last. His last chapter was on the biblical law of supply and my life and work is based on that belief and my realization that in many ways it always has been.
Our meetings ceased during 2024 even though we all saw one another fairly frequently. Sheila's sudden death shocked us because it now means that our trio shall not meet again for discussion in this life. We shall meet some members of Sheila's family and friends at her funeral and hope that they will know how much Sheila's beliefs about metaphysics, faith and astrology influenced us the year we studied together as three friends who just new that learning never ceases even with death. We miss you Sheila and wish we had had more time with you.

I worked with Sheila West in the 1980´s. She was a Licensed Certified Social Worker at the Calvert County Health Department working primarily with children and adolescents. She was genuinely caring about her patients' needs and problems. She was friendly and outgoing to staff and clients alike. She loved to socialize and share time with her friends. She will be greatly missed.
