Shelbia Jean Forgey, 84, Logansport, Indiana, passed away Sunday evening, May 4, 2025, in Woodbridge Health Campus with her family by her side.
Born November 21, 1940, in Washington, Indiana, she was the daughter of the late Luard and Marjorie (Brummett) Patterson.
On October 26, 1963, in Logansport, she married Doug Forgey, who survives.
Shelby was a graduate of Washington High School. She went on to graduate from Wright's Beauty College. She enjoyed a successful career as a cosmetologist.
As a member of the Church of Christ at Logansport, Shelby loved her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She enjoyed attending church and the congregation was like family to her. Shelby never had a bad word to say about anyone. She enjoyed the simple pleasures in life like gardening, decorating her home and her sweet little dog, "Tila."
Surviving with her husband of 62 wonderful years are sons Derek (Kimbra) Forgey, and Michael Forgey, all of Logansport; her grandchildren, Zak Forgey, Shaylen Forgey, Amber Ochoa, and Evan Higgins; and her great-grandchildren, Rayden Forgey, Sophia Ochoa, and Lennon Ochoa.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Gary Patterson.
Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. - noon on Friday, May 9th, in Fisher Funeral Chapel.
A Funeral Service celebrating Shelby's life will follow at noon Friday in the funeral chapel with Jeff Strite officiating.
Burial will immediately follow in Mount Hope Cemetery.
