It is with human sadness but with spiritual joy to report to family and friends that Shelby Jane Stilley, 85, of Marion, IL passed away on February 14, 2025 at Parkway Manor in Marion, Illinois.
Shelby was born on May 24, 1939 to Orval and Frieda Adine (Parmley) Stilley, in Marion, Illinois.
Shelby attended Marion High School where she graduated in 1957. She received her Bachelor's degree from SIU and later received her Masters degree from Bradley University in Education. She started teaching in Colombia, Illinois and the majority of her teaching career was teaching elementary education in Peoria, Illinois. She retired in 1999 and moved to Thompsonville, Illinois to be near her family and later moved to Marion, Illinois.
Shelby enjoyed reading and learning. She had something very few people in this world have; enough.
She is survived by one sister, Darlene Darnell of Marion, Illinois and her nephew, Eric Drake (Leslie) of Aledo, Texas, niece Sara Droke (Geoff) of Benton, Kentucky, great-niece Rylie Jane Drake, and great-niece Presley Arabella Gallimore.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Orval and Frieda Adine Stilley.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Wilson-McReynolds Funeral Home, 900 North Court Street, Marion, IL.
In accordance with her wishes, services will be held at a later date.
