Shellie (Inkenbrandt) Pearl, age 53, passed away surrounded by her loved ones at Heart to Heart Hospice in Evansville, Indiana, on July 15, 2025, after a courageous five-year journey with cancer.
Throughout her battle, Shellie remained an inspiration to her cherished family and the many amazing friends who meant the world to her. Shellie was born on August 18, 1971, in Evansville to Daniel and Patricia (Martin) Inkenbrandt and attended Reitz High School. She had a lifelong love for teaching and was never afraid of making a mess in the name of creativity and art.
Shellie went on to receive a degree in graphic design from USI. However, she continued working in the bakery at Schnucks until she discovered her true passion-teaching young children and being an amazing mom to her own three kids. Every aspect of her life reflected her passion for caring for others and her creative spirit where she always touched the souls of those around her. Anywhere Shellie went, she never met a stranger. Extending from Evansville and Mishawaka, Indiana, to as far south as Lubbock, Texas, Shellie never failed to share her love and positivity with others. Through her travels and relocations, she was truly able to touch the lives of many people across the country. She always found a way to deeply connect with people who saw her genuine nature, kind spirit, and joyful attitude. Shellie loved spending time in outdoors, especially hiking in the woods. She found beauty and joy in flowers, trees, and all animals, especially pollinators. Her lifelong mission was to make the world a healthier and more beautiful place, and she carried that mission into every aspect of her life.
Shellie's love for the outdoors was second only to her love for her family, which she never failed to express, even in her final days. Her three loving children are all a mosaic of Shellie's most wonderful traits, and while Shellie will be missed dearly, she will continue to live on through them. She is survived by her loving children, Justen, Julia, and Meaghan Pearl; her parents, Dan and Patti Inkenbrandt; her sisters, Karie Rexing and Stefani Inkenbrandt; niece and nephew, Ashley and Aaron Rexing; and many beloved aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Lawrence and Alice Martin and Elmer and Malinda (Paul) Inkenbrandt.
Shellie will be deeply missed by all who knew her, but her legacy of positivity, joy and love for the natural world will live on in those she touched.
Visitation and services will be held at Pierre Funeral Home, 2601 W. Franklin Street, Evansville, Indiana, on Saturday July 19 from 12-2 p.m. with a prayer vigil at 1 p.m.
In lieu of flowers or other kindnesses, we ask you to show your love and condolences by adding native plants to your yard or donating to cancer research.

Shellie you will be missed dearly. I am so thankful to have been your neighbor, coworker and friend so many years ago. Your outgoing spirit made friends fast and it was always a joy to be around you. You gave great counsel to a fellow mom of a teenager. I was blessed to work along side you at Calvary. It was fun coming up with the crafts for the little ones. I remember you loved working in your flowerbeds. Your smile shined at every football game. We didn´t take many pictures together but behind every picture of our 4 girls I remember spending precious moments with you, Luci, and Cinda.
