Shelva J. (Fake) Holtzapple, age 87, of York, passed away at home on October 29, 2024. She was the loving wife of the late Marlin "Richie" Holtzapple.
Shelva was born in York, PA on September 16, 1937 and was the daughter of the late Ruth Fake. She owned and operated Holtzapple Grocery and was a proud breast cancer survivor. Shelva also enjoyed watching baseball, especially the Philadelphia Phillies, cooking, and listening to bluegrass and gospel music.
Shelva is survived by her children Lori Rudd and husband Joey and Ricky Holtzapple; her grandchildren Jessica and Joey, Jr; her great-grandchildren Marlie and Pierce; and her siblings Joyce Aldinger, Dennis Krout, and Steve Krout. She was preceded in death by her longtime companion Christian Miller; and her siblings Terry Krout and Janice Floyd.
A Memorial Service in celebration of Shelva's life will be held on Wednesday, November 6, 2024 at 11:00AM at Beck Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Inc., of East York, 3670 E. Market St., York, PA 17402 with Certified Life-Cycle Celebrant Donna Hoffman officiating.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Shelva's memory may be made to the Pennsylvania Breast Cancer Coalition, 2397 Quentin Rd., Suite B, Lebanon, PA 17042.
