You were an incredible principal. The best we´ve ever had. When we first met you 4 years ago, I was immediately impressed by your love for the school and the students. I was impressed with your love for the students, always greeting them with a smile and saying their names. And, as parents, he would always take the time to say talk to us. You will be missed!
This is a picture of Mr. Smith when I was getting my kids from school. He was carrying around a "work for food" sign he had found by the street near school yard. I asked him, "Do you need a raise?" He laughed! Here´s a picture of him with the sign.

We are shocked and extremely saddened by the news of Mr. Smith´s passing. He will be greatly missed and our hearts grieve for his family.
Mr. Smith was always so kind and welcoming, calling us all by name and giving fist bumps and waves.(How he memorized and remembered hundreds of students´ and family names made such a difference!) He was always so very present at school, right in the thick of things, usually the first face we´d see upon arrival and the last cheerful wave from the curb at the end of the day.
He inspired our children to be their best selves, creating a warm and nurturing learning environment while setting high standards for academic excellence. He wasn´t a remote and indifferent administrator; he was a friend.
We will miss him terribly. Smith family, you are in our fervent prayers and will be for a long time. We don´t know you well, but we hope you feel our love and sincere wishes for your comfort, peace, and well-being.
We will never forget Mr. Smith and his goodness.

We love Mr Smith and his family. We pray for you all. He made such an impact in my childrens futures. He cared for each one and knew them by name. He took the time to help children and give them second chances when others would have given up on them. He had a kind heart and a great sense of humor. We appreciate his support at school and in the community. We will miss Mr Smith.

Mr. Smith could always be found right where the students were. He genuinely cared about people, and it showed by how he took the time to learn each and every student´s name, honor them individually at morning greeting, or say good morning or goodbye to them at the doors of our school.
He did his best as a school principal to foster the feeling of a loving and caring family.
I hope his wonderful wife, Jenny knows what a positive impact he made to many, and his children know that their Dad will always be remembered by the entire TECS community.
Thank you Shem for the time you shared with us doing what you cared so much about. We appreciate all the work you did for our school and building up the lives of others.

To the family of Mr. Smith, Thank you for sharing with us the compassionate, understanding, funny, caring, and amazing human that he was. He was always present, willing to have conversations and even advise as a parent. We chose the school upon meeting him. His commitment to the TECS community was outstanding. As a family we always felt supported and appreciated. He will be GREATLY missed. Thank you! Our hearts go to you and all those that loved him.

My son attended the school where Mr. Smith was a principal. More often than not you would find Mr. Smith standing at the door ready to greet the kids. I saw so many smiles from children as he stood and talked to them and took genuine interest in them. My child being one of these kids. I´m truly grateful for Mr. Smiths example of caring for others and being a light to everyone. Thank you for helping my child feel safe and happy at school. We send our condolences to his beautiful family.

He could dish the jokes way better than anyone I know. First words he said to me after my mission, "I thought Britton invited Matt over, not the person who ate Matt" I gained a lot of weight. Hahaha Shem was an incredible human being. He will be greatly missed.
