Sherri Lynn Yelton passed away July 8, 2025, at the age of 59 after a 3-and-a-half-year battle with cholangiocarcinoma. Sherri was a people person. Starting during her time at McAuley High School through her decades-long career in the cosmetics industry, she never met a stranger. Her kind spirit and relentless charm ensured she was beloved by all who knew her. The Queen of Comedy, Sherri made people laugh wherever she went. From hilarious impressions of her eccentric clients to her own original characters, she shined brightest when entertaining those she loved. The greatest loves of Sherri's life were her children and grandchildren. Sherri was a dedicated mother who always went above and beyond to ensure her daughters, Kailee and Kourtney, were happy and loved. She was adored by her grandchildren, Charlie and Bella, who were her pride and joy. She was preceded in death by her younger brother Richard "Rich" Yelton Jr and her grandparents Irene & Delmer Yelton and Lee & Ralph Detmer. She is survived by daughters Kailee Poston (Nick Howrey) and Kourtney (Brett) Montgomery, grandchildren Charlie and Bella Montgomery, parents Deanna "Dee Dee" and Richard "Dick" Yelton Sr., nephews Michael, Christian, and Ryan Yelton, and sister-in-law Adela Yelton. Services will be held at Lakeside Christian Church, 195 Buttermilk Pike, Lakeside Park, KY 41017, on July 15t, 2025, at 11:00 A.M., with visitation starting at 10 am and reception to follow. In honor of Sherri's bold style, her family will be accessorizing with green and leopard print, and you are invited to join them. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Cholangiocarcinoma Foundation or to Bluegrass Hospice Care.
