Sherrie Jane (Alvey) Wagner, 54, of Evansville, passed away Thursday, September 10, 2009, at her residence. Sherrie was a graduate of Christ the King Catholic School, Memorial High School, and a certified nursing assistant at the Good Samaritan Nursing Home. She participated and volunteered for the "Race for the Cure," and was a loving mother, grandmother, daughter and sister. Sherrie was survived by her daughters, Jennifer Wagner and Linzy Zangaro and her husband, Bryan; grandchildren, Jazlyn Woosley, Austin Thompson and Angelina Zangaro, all of Evansville; parents, Jim and Betty Jo Alvey of Evansville; sisters, Becky Alvey of Evansville and Patty Carder of Lawrenceville, Ga.; brothers, Steve Alvey (Diane) of Coto De Caza, Calif., Jim Alvey (Bette) of Cape Coral, Fla., and Bob Alvey (Patty) of Loganville, Ga. She is also survived by many aunts, uncle, nieces, and nephews, who love her and will miss her. She was preceded in death by her sister, Sandy Mills, and grandparents, Willard and Lil Ennis and Otha and Georgia Alvey. Services will be Tuesday, September 15, 2009, at 10 a.m. at Christ the King Church, with Msgr. Kenneth Knapp officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday, September 14, 2009, at Ziemer East Chapel, 800 S. Hebron Ave., from 2 to 8 p.m. and continuing on Tuesday at Christ the King Church until service time. A memorial service will be held Monday evening 7 p.m. .at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to a favorite charity.
