Sherry Paddick, 76, of Oblong, died unexpectedly Monday, Dec. 2, 2024, at her home.
Sherry was born in Robinson on Aug. 21, 1948, to Arthur and Betty (Yager) Taylor. She graduated from Oblong High School in 1966. On July 29, 1967, she married her high school sweetheart, Denny Paddick, and he preceded her in death on Feb. 17, 2024.
Sherry loved nature and enjoyed planting flowers, feeding the birds, and walking at the county's forest preserve. She decorated her home with early antiques and took trips with Denny to antique shops in other states. Over the years, the family enjoyed taking vacations all over the country and spent lots of time in Florida. Sherry was also a fan of the Indianapolis Colts and the Indiana Pacers. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family, doing things for her loved ones, and watching her grandkids play sports.
Sherry is survived by her son, Shawn Paddick, Oblong; her daughter and son-in-law, Kendra and Kirk Bailey, Oblong; her grandchildren, Rowan and Maggie Bailey, Oblong; her sisters and brothers-in-law, Lynda and Stephen Oliver, O'Fallon, Denise McCleave, Oblong, and Stacey and Cary Elliott, Robinson; and her brother and sister-in-law, Mark and Marilyn Taylor, Jupiter, Fla.
Preceding her in death were her loving husband, her parents, and her brother, Eric Taylor.
Graveside services will be held Friday, December 6, 2024, at 1:00 pm at Waggoner Cemetery, north of Chauncey with Brother Phil Boyd officiating.
Memorial donations may be made to Crawford County Animal Control and can be mailed to the Pulliam Funeral Home P.O. Box 121 Oblong, IL 62449.
