Mr. Christopher M. Brown, age 54, of Jarrell, Texas, formerly of Oblong, Illinois, and Greenwood, Indiana, passed away on April 25, 2025, in Jarrell. Chris was born in Richmond, Virginia, on June 13, 1970, to the late JR "Mick" Brown and Peggy (Dotson) Brown. He was also blessed with a second mother, Debbie Brown (Ron Mitchell) of Hanover, Indiana, who played an important role in his life.
Chris was a proud father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He married Julie Pritts on June 12, 1994, and though they later divorced, they remained connected through their children. He worked as a production associate for Tesla in Austin, Texas, where he brought his dedication and strong work ethic every day.
A member of the First Baptist Church of Oblong, Illinois, Chris was also a passionate motorcycle enthusiast. He was a proud brother in the Wind Therapy Freedom Riders (WTFrs) motorcycle club, where he was affectionately known by his road name, "Lost It." His club and his biker family brought him great joy, and he brought laughter, light, and unforgettable memories to them all.
Chris is survived by his beloved son, Nicholas Brown, and grandson, RJ Brown, both of Oblong, Illinois, who lovingly knew him as "Papaw." The bond Chris shared with Nicholas was one of the most meaningful parts of his life. Nicholas was not just his son, but his closest friend, his source of pride, and his anchor through life's toughest times. Chris's love for Nicholas was unwavering and fiercely protective, and he often said his greatest accomplishment was being his dad. He is also survived by his mother Peggy Brown of North Carolina, and Debbie Brown (Ron Mitchell) of Hanover, Indiana; sisters Sherri (Charles) Boyette of North Carolina, Cristy (David) Searle of North Carolina, and Melody (Thom) Baldwin of Tennessee; nieces Dannielle Brown, Anastasia Baldwin, and Kelly Boyette; nephews Casey Brown and Blake Deem; and many cherished aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. He is also remembered by his former spouse, Julie Brown.
He was preceded in death by his father, JR "Mick" Brown, and his beloved daughter, Kristen Brown, who passed on December 9, 2020. February was always a difficult month for Chris, as he mourned her deeply. Those closest to him take comfort in knowing they are now reunited.
A special message from his brother of Wind Therapy Freedom Riders:
"I Love My Orange Family"
Our worst fear has come true - our brother, Lost It, aka Chris Brown, has left us. His demons finally won, but he's no longer in pain. His family shared how much he loved the club and everyone in it. They thanked us for bringing joy to his life, but truly, it was Chris who brought joy to ours. Who could forget the countless goofy Chris moments? Dropping his bike at stoplights for no reason, dancing like no one was watching, or belting out terrible karaoke - it never mattered, because he was living life and loving it, surrounded by his "orange family," as he called us.
We all knew how much February weighed on him, marking the loss of his daughter. Maybe he just wanted to be with her - and now he is, for eternity. It doesn't matter how his story ended; I'll choose to remember how he lived - with love, laughter, and loyalty. He truly loved us, and we loved him.
Let's honor that love, just as he would want.
We'll share details about a final ride soon. For now, please keep his family in your prayers.
A Celebration of Life and his final ride with his WTFrs brothers will be announced at a later date.
