Sherrye D. Harrell, a cherished member of her community and a devoted family matriarch, passed away on August 27, 2025, in Hattiesburg, Mississippi, at the age of 59. Born on December 20, 1965, in Tennessee, Sherrye touched the lives of many through her kindness, creativity, and steadfast dedication to her family and faith.
Sherrye was a vibrant presence, known for her love of reading, cooking, and crocheting. She was a member of Brandon First Methodist Church. She dedicated much of her time volunteering with the children at Church, where her nurturing spirit flourished. A passion for photography allowed her to capture the world and the special moments of those around her, leaving behind a visual legacy of her warm and generous heart.
Sherrye is survived by her two children: Wesley Harrell of Morton, MS and Stacy Bass. She is also remembered by her beloved siblings: Beth Suggs and her husband, Greg, of Collierville, TN; Michael Bishop of Olive Branch, MS; and Vickie Boyd and her husband Mike, of Munford TN. Her family legacy continues with five adoring grandchildren and a supportive stepmother, Wanda Bishop, residing in Knoxville, TN.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John E. Harrell; her son, Nova Harrell; her mother, Ann Miller, and bonus father Jim Miller; her father, Dwight Bishop; her sister-in-law, Shannon Bishop; and her brother-in-law, Allen Dutton.
A visitation will be held on August 29, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM and again on August 30, 2025, from 12:30 PM to 1:45 PM at Brandon First Methodist Church, located at 205 Mary Ann Drive, Brandon, MS. A funeral service will take place on August 30, 2025, at 2:00 PM, immediately followed by a burial service at Kalem Community Church Cemetery, 8320 US-80, Morton, MS, starting at 3:00 PM.
Sherrye D. Harrell will be deeply missed, remembered for her unwavering love and the joy she brought to those fortunate enough to know her.
