Sheryl Dove Anderson, 56 of Frederick County, VA passed away on Tuesday, February 4, 2025, with her family at her side at UVA Hospital in Charlottesville.
Sheryl was born in Arlington, VA, the daughter of the late Edward and Linda Dove.
Sheryl was a graduate of Oakton High School, Class of 1987. She received her bachelor's degree in business administration from the University of South Florida; a master's degree in education from George Mason University, followed by an endorsement in Early Childhood Special Education. Sheryl was passionate about young children and creating an environment where children felt safe and loved. Sheryl worked for Frederick County Public Schools of Virginia as an early childhood special education teacher.
Sheryl was passionate about her family, young children, and sharing Conscious Discipline and Social and Emotional teaching strategies to other teachers.
Surviving with her husband, Christopher Anderson; children, Amanda Shaughnessy of Golden, CO, Masie Shaughnessy of Winchester, VA and Aidan Shaughnessy of Winchester, VA and her sister, Susan Mullins (Dave) of Sweet, ID.
A Celebration of Life will be held for Sheryl on Saturday, February 15, 2025, from 3pm to 7pm at Lake Holiday Clubhouse, 1045 Lakeview Drive, Cross Junction, VA 22625.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in memory of Sheryl to Froggy's Closet by visiting their website at: https://www.frog-kids.org

I do not know your family but I believe from reading Cheryl's obituary that she was a special angel on earth for her students. Thank you, Lord, for bringing her unconditional love and compassion to them. Father, bless and strengthen Cheryl's family through and beyond this loss.
