Ronald Whitaker Obituary

Published by Legacy on Aug. 13, 2025.
Ronald Armand Whitaker, 81, passed away peacefully on August 8, 2025, with loving family by his side. He was born to Dwight and Ina (Devigne) Whitaker on September 23, 1943, at Randolph Air Force Base, Texas. He was a Sig Ep with Southern Mississippi where lifelong friendships were formed bonds set in stone. Ron graduated from University of South Florida with his Masters. He was an exceptional leader, teaching elementary school in Lee County for more than 30 years. He was so much more than a teacher, he was a friend, a confidant, and he inspired the next generation to go into the world and do big things.
Ron was a witty, gentle man with a generous heart. His contagious smile could light a room. He loved to play a good round of golf in his younger years. He loved to get lost in a good book. He was also a dog lover and doted on and rescued numerous dogs throughout his life. He had an ornery sense of humor and could make anyone laugh with his one-liners. He loved spending quality time with his friends and family.
Ron is survived by his wife of 56 years, Jackie Whitaker and their son, Scott Whitaker of Fort Myers.
There will be no services.
