Sheryl Betts Cox, aged 71, passed away peacefully on September 19, 2025, in Greenville, NC. Born on January 12, 1954, in Norfolk, VA, Sheryl lived a life full of love, creativity, and service.

Throughout her career, Sheryl dedicated herself to helping others as a Life Line Coordinator at the hospital. Her compassionate nature and unwavering commitment made a lasting impact on those she served and worked with.

Sheryl had a vibrant spirit that shone through her passions. She enjoyed spending time at the beach, whether it be by herself, with friends, or with her husband by her side. A lover of the great outdoors, Sheryl found peace among nature's beauty and had a deep affection for animals.

She was preceded in death by her beloved son, Justin Cox. Sheryl leaves behind a devoted family who will cherish her memory: her loving husband, William "Danny" Daniel Cox, of the home; her parents, Herbert and Roberta Betts of Aurora; and her brother, Glenn Betts of Aurora. Sheryl was also a proud grandmother to Scarlet Cox and Ryker Cox, and is also survived by her loving sister-in-law Tina Cox Wagoner and husband Jonathan of Jacksonville.

A graveside service to honor Sheryl's life will be held on Monday at 2 PM at the Warren Cemetery of Blounts Creek with Pastors Annie Norman and Ray Bonner officiating.

Her presence will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Joseph B. Paul Jr. Funeral Service is honored to assist the Cox family.
