SHERYL L. SPOONER, 42 of Jefferson passed away on Tuesday, January 9, 2024.Sheryl was born on August 17, 1981 in Custer County, South Dakota to Phillip and Teresa (Tanner) Schutt. She attended school and graduated from Custer High School, class of '99. Sheryl was very athletic and was involved in several sports including rowing, wrestling, volleyball and basketball. She earned the title of First Place at state in wrestling, and continued on to earn the title of Second Place in the nation. She also coached youth basketball.
Sheryl drove train for Burlington Northern in Wyoming before moving to Wisconsin. She was most recently was a supervisor for Latitude Graphics in Madison. She married Tarrah Spooner on July 13, 2012. She enjoyed spending time with Tarrah and Jackson creating wild and crazy memories. She was the most amazing aunt to many nieces and nephews who she spoiled and doted on every chance she got.
Sheryl is survived by her spouse, Tarrah; son, Jackson Smith of Jefferson; mother Teresa (Carldean) Erickson of Mission, SD; father Phil (Ann) Schutt of Moorcroft, WY; siblings Michael (Kristain) Schutt of Gillette, WY, Amanda (Steve) Blume of Custer, SD and Daniel (Danya) Schutt of Moorcroft, WY. She is preceded in death by her brother, Robert Redden.
A memorial visitation will be held from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM on Sunday January 14th, 2024 at Schneider-Michaelis Funeral Home in Jefferson. Time for sharing memories of Sheryl will begin at 3:00 PM.
