Shirley Boeldt Age 89 of Plymouth, WI Passed away early Tuesday morning (May 14, 2024) at Rocky Knoll Health Care Facility in Plymouth where she had been a resident for the past year.
She was born on March 11, 1935 in Sheboygan, WI, a daughter of the late Art and Lorraine (Gottowski) Bennin. Shirley was baptized and confirmed at St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Howards Grove and was also a Sunday school teacher there. She attended the one room grade school in Johnsonville and graduated from Plymouth High School in 1952.
On September 12, 1953 she and John "Hans" Boeldt were united in marriage at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Howards Grove. Her husband preceded her in death on February 1, 2017. After their marriage they resided in Johnsonville, then moving to Howards Grove where Shirley worked at the Log Cabin Restaurant. In 1968, they bought the restaurant in Cascade and operated Boeldt's Restaurant until 1996 when they sold it, moving to Plymouth. While in Plymouth. Shirley was employed at the Depot Steakhouse and the Evergreen Golf Course. Shirley and Hans enjoyed golfing with friends, playing cards and bingo and going to the casino. She was a former member of the Cascade Appolo Snowmobile Club. Shirley was a faithful member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Cascade.
Survivors include: Her sons: John (Judy) Boeldt of Kohler, Randy (Dorothy) Boeldt of Elkhart Lake and her daughter: Vicky (Tony) Graff of Venice, FL. Six Grandchildren: Tanya (Patrick) Buchanan, Shalon (Eric) Edson, Melissa (Brian) Vanness, Jamie (Mike) Vande Hey, Tyler Graff and Joshua Graff. Seventeen great grandchildren. Two brothers: Don (Donna) Bennin of Crivitz and Dick (Debbie) Bennin of Sheboygan and one sister: Sharon (Neil) Pahl of Howards Grove. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Preceded in death by her infant twin sons, her husband, her parents: Art and Lorraine Bennin and her in-laws: Harold and Norma Boeldt.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday afternoon (May 18, 2024) at 1:00 P.M. at the Suchon Funeral Home in Plymouth. Rev. Richard Bidinger, Pastor of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Cascade will officiate. Burial will be in the St. Paul's Cemetery, Howards Grove. Friends may call at the Suchon Funeral Home on Saturday morning from 11:00 A.M. until the time of services.
